Ready for what's set to be an eventful evening, Viola Davis turned up as planned for the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday (January 29).

The 46-year-old big screen star worked the red carpet at the Shrine Exposition Center venue in a Marchesa frock with Jimmy Choo shoes before hitting the entrance ahead of the annual Tinseltown celebration of cinema.

Not just a mere spectator, Miss Davis happens to have the important task of presenting an award, with fellow trophy passer-outers including George Clooney, Michelle Williams, Brad Pitt, Zoe Saldana and Natalie Portman.

Hoping for a big win for her role in "The Help," Miss Davis is up for Outstanding Performance By A Female Actor In A Leading Role while facing off against Michelle Williams, Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Tilda Swinton.

With the ceremony airing live on TNT and TBS beginning at 8 p.m. (ET), the night will also see Dick Van Dyke present Screen Actors Guild's 48th Life Achievement Award to Mary Tyler Moore.
