Always one of the most difficult times in a person's life, Katie Couric is dealing with the saddening situation of preparing a funeral for her father.
The television anchorwoman's dad, John Martin Couric Jr., passed away at the age of 90-year-old after a battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Grateful for all of the kind words she's received, Katie tweeted on Thursday morning (June 23), "Thank you to all the kind people expressing their sympathy to my family. The loss is profound and I am grateful for your support."
As for her father, Miss Couric's father was" a former journalist who reported from the southern U.S. and Washington, DC in the 1940s and 1950s before becoming a public relations professional," according to the Washington Post.
