Continuing what has proven to be an uphill battle since his 2009 infidelity scandal, Tiger Woods has officially dropped out of the Players Championship.
The golf superstar's withdrawal comes after just nine holes due to a knee injury, as he told the PGA Tour's website, "The knee acted up and then the Achilles followed after that, and then the calf started cramping up. Everything started getting tight, so it's just a whole chain reaction."
This was the first time Tiger had returned to the tour since suffering both knee and Achilles injuries while playing in the Masters last month.
Woods pulled out of the same tournament last year, while in the final round of play, due to an injury to his neck.
