He has a history of substance abuse, and now Matthew Perry has announced he'll be taking a break from life to "focus on my sobriety."
The "Friends" star insists he hasn't relapsed back to his prescription pill addiction (he spent time in rehab back in 1997 and 2001), and that he's taking proactive measures to stay on the straight and narrow.
Matthew declared, "I'm making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web."
Currently, Mr. Perry, 41, is starring in the ABC comedy program "Mr. Sunshine." And hopefully this move will help Matthew stay healthy.
